Drystone field boundaries |
 |
The majority of our work comprises of either the repair or rebuilding of existing boundaries as well as building from new. We work with many stone types and are conversant with building most features to be found in a length of dry stone ie stiles, curves, hogg holes and walls on sloping ground.

Mortared and face walling |
 |
In certain situations where more structural strength is required it is often favourable to face a concrete block wall with stone. This method can also be employed where space is an issue and less width of wall is required. The same technique can be applied to free standing walls.

Restoration of traditional features |

including the use of lime mortars.
|
In recent years we have been involved in the repair and restoration of several traditional features/structures including bee boles and lime kilns. We are able to supply and use lime mortars where necessary and appreciate that sympathetic repairs are sometimes required to retain the original character of these structures.

If a client has an unusual project in mind we can work with them. We have the practical experience needed having worked with architects, garden designers, artists and archeologists and are used to interpreting original ideas.

Garden features | |
 |
Decorative features built in natural stone can transform a garden. We can source most types of stone to suite a specific location or match existing walls to form terraces, raised beds, steps, water features and arches. These are all in the scope of our work. |

Usually found in Central Lakeland. These fences are made from Brathay Flags, the edges of which are dressed to interlock with their neighbours. As well as restoring existing fences we can also supply stone and erect new ones.
